plato's republic reimagined
I have always been interested in how the old inspires contemporary society, but I was especially interested in Plato after I read his "Republic".
As an application of my love for philosophy, I am composing a creative work which applies his "just society" to the present. Who is the equivalent of the "guardian ruler" today? What aspects of Plato's virtue, education, and other ideals are interwoven into societal constructs?
Have they been there all along, or will society need tearing down to be rebuilt into Plato's ideal?
